Person Profiles Tab

The Profile tab identifies what an employee can do. A profile is a version of a person in this application. It describes attributes about the person, such as their job title, pay information, skill sets, group, and acting capabilities.

About employee profiles...

  • A profile is not an assignment.
  • Profile graphics have two statuses: Active and Inactive
  • A person may have multiple profiles, but only one profile may be active at a time.
  • Staffing rules and filter queries return the active profile for the given date.
  • Security permission settings in Setup control the ability to edit and create new profiles.

As of application version 7.0 the person profile tab is job centric. Skills, certifications, and wage information are located outside of the Profile tab. In early versions of this application, this information resided inside the Profile tab which resulted in additional data entry steps when updating employee profile attributes specific to jobs. To maintain backward compatibility, legacy specialty functionality is still available in the Profile tab. However, we recommend using the Skills and Certifications tab to simplify managing employee profiles.

Dimensions Profiles

Customers using Dimensions must apply the product license that will be integrating with Dimensions.

For example, a TeleStaff license indicates a TeleStaff Dimensions integration, and a Planner license indicates a Planner Dimensions integration. In addition to the matching Profile data mapped between both applications, you must identify and provide the product license for each employee in the People Editor in Dimensions to sync personnel scheduling activity.

The Dimensions primary job populates the profile in this application according to the effective date. Modifications made to the person’s profile in this application, meaning outside of Dimensions, are retained in this application - except for the Opportunity# which is the Seniority# in Dimensions, or any field that is shared between the two applications. When the same field exists in both applications, the field in Dimensions will override data in this application.

As of application version 7.5.2, users created directly in this application will have Clone and Add profile functions enabled. Users created via a Dimensions integration will have the Clone and the Add profile functions disabled. Additional changes applicable to Dimensions integrated users...

  • The Employee ID is visible but disabled.
  • The Profile External ID is visible but disabled.
  • No multi-edit function for both the Employee ID and the profile External ID. Field will appear blank and cannot be changed.
